Presents Its Scholarship Fundraiser
"A Day at the Races"

WHEN: Sunday, 7/31/05, at 12:30 pm -3:30 pm at the Del Mar Race Track Infield Pavilion

WHO TO BRING: Bring your friends and family, guys as well as gals, to have a great time with us at the exciting and beautiful Del Mar Racetrack.

COST: Price Pending $-- adults/$-- for children (17 and under): You will enjoy admission to the racetrack and an All-American Lunch Buffet in the Pacific Pavilion. The buffet features a varied menu plus water and soda.

EVENT: There will be prizes, raffles, and a silent auction to win fabulous items including: dinner at local restaurants, flowers, sporting event tickets, and fabulous getaways. Each sorority will be donating themed baskets for the silent auction.

RSVP: RSVP to Vicki McDonald. (Please email Vicki at registrar@sdaph.org to request her address, if needed.). Panhellenic is planning for at least 100 attendees. So make your reservations for this fun event now! Panhellenic needs reservations by (pending)

FUNDRAISING:

Panhellenic will use an opportunity raffle to help raise money for highschool scholarships! Tickets will be sold prior to the event. Sale information is pending.

Donations are needed!

Baskets will be raffled via an opportunity drawing. Basket donations are requested. Suggestions from Panhellenic include:

  • Restaurants and hotels - can you get us a gift certificate??
  • Do you know of a celebrity, executive or interesting person who would donate something a little different that we could auction off - such as a behind-the-scenes tour or lessons on something interesting or a guest visit to?
  • Something unusual: a private tennis or golf brunch for 4, private dinner party, picnic or children's birthday party, hot air balloon ride, a day on a Harley, or ???
  • Do any of your members have a business or do a special craft that could and would make a donation to us?
  • We need Lovely Gift items for the home and garden
  • Sport equipment or sporting event tickets --- Everyone wants them. Maybe you have season tickets and can't attend all the games
  • Candy - everybody loves it
  • Gift certificates to stores or for services such as spas
  • Do you have access to a retreat in the mountains or beach house, a boat, or bed and breakfast that you could donate so we can auction it off?

5:00 Dinner, Silent Auction & Tournament Awards Presentation

Eary Bird Registration Fee for the golf tournament is $125 per person ($135/person after July 1st). Early Bird Tickets for only Dinner/Auction are $35 per person ($40 after July 1) - and non-golfers are very much encouraged to attend the evening dinner/silent auction! We will also offer the "wanna be golfers" a 9-hole putting course/contest for a fee of $20.

Net proceeds benefit our philanthropies of Breast Cancer Awareness & Education (which includes support for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation), support of the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation for collegiate scholarship and leadership development programs, and support for local philanthropies. Last year this included the preparation of a sizeable care package for a company of Marines deployed to Iraq, and a large donation to SurfAid (an Encinitas-based organization who delivered significant tsunami aid relief.)
