Program

San Diego Women's History Museum- We will hear a presentation on "Arsenic and Corsets: Women's Health and Fashion in the 19th Century". The speaker is Sue Gonda, Ph.D., who is a professor of history at Grossmont College.

The mission of the Women's History Museum and Educational Center is to educate and inspire present and future generations about the experiences and contributions of women by collecting, preserving, and interpreting the evidence of that experience. The museum is in Golden Hill at 2323 Broadway Street. Learn more about the museum at www.whmec.org.

Reservations

Please make your luncheon reservation by sending your check for $25.00 and make it payable to San Diego Alumnae Panhellenic. Please send your check to Teresa Leader-Anderson. (Please email info@sdaph.org to request her address, if needed.) RSVP by September 26, 2007 - No cancellations after this date. Your check is your reservation. Reservations will be strictly observed. No shows will be invoiced -no exceptions

You can also pay now via PayPal. Click on the button to pay for your luncheon reservation. The cost is $26.25 ($25 + $1.25 processing fee.)
If you are interested in donating to the SDAP Scholarship Fund, you may also do that through PayPal. We really appreciate donations of all amounts! We request a "shipping" address so we can make sure to thank you!

Quilt Opportunity Drawing

Julie Martinet has made a beautiful quilt and generously donated it for an opportunity raffle. Tickets will be sold at the event, but you can also buy pre-buy tickets online through PayPal. A single ticket is $5.50 and you can purchase 5 tickets for $20.90. We started collections at the Wine and Jazz festival event and are continuing to collect through this luncheon.

One Ticket $5.50 ($5 + $0.50 PayPal processing fee.)
Five Tickets $20.90 ($20 + $0.90 PayPal processing fee.)

DIRECTIONS: In the heart of San Diego’s Balboa Park, The Prado is 5 minutes north of downtown in the center of the city. Centrally located just minutes from San Diego International Airport, The Prado has easy access from the I-5 and the 163 Freeways. (Please consult a Thomas Guide page 1289– B/1 for specific directions.)

On the west side of the park

Enter Balboa Park at 6th Avenue and Laurel, head east to the center fountain next to the Museum of Art.

On the east side of the park

Enter Balboa Park off Park Boulevard at President’s Way and turn into the park. Follow the signs to the House of Hospitality.

Parking

There is plenty of parking around Balboa Park. The parking lots on President's Way would be closest to the restaurant specifically the lot behind the organ pavilion.

Southern California Council of Alumnae Panhellenics (SCCAP) Meeting

09:15 a.m. - Registration & Coffee

12:00 p.m. - Luncheon

College Panhellenic Advisors from across Southern California will be sharing the latest fall recruitment results, and discussing sorority and fraternity trends on local campuses. 

Reservations must be received by October 12, 2007. The luncheon cost is $30. To reserve a space, please contact info@sdaph.org for more information.
