SDAP Officers Positions

Each sorority has a delegate to Panhellenic. Officers positions rotate to a different sorority every year from general delegate to President to help share the responsibilities.

The chart below notes each position and job responsibility.

Office

Responsibilities

President Presides at meetings, appoints committees and handles affairs of the Association.
First Vice-President Acts in the absence of the President. Provides speakers and arranges programs for the general meetings.
Second Vice-President Makes arrangements for the general meetings, except for arrangements pertaining to the programs.
Secretary Takes and distributes copies of the minutes. Calls roll at meetings.
Treasurer Collects funds, disburses funds, prepares budget, and provides reports to the board.
Master Files/ Collegiate Liaison Attends SCCAP meetings (October and April) and reports to the board. Collect statistics on potential new members, visits collegiate Panhellenic advisors and reports on collegiate activities at relevant universities.
Community Service/ Public Relations Plans a community service project.
Publicity/ Historian Responsible for publicity in newspapers, radio, and/or television. Maintains historical records and prepares scrapbook of the year's activities.
Registrar Collects funds for general meetings, prepares attendance list and name tags, and checks members in at the meetings.
Fundraising Arranges yearly fundraising projects for scholarship fund, with a major fundraiser being done every other year.
Past President/ Member Recognition Sends invitations to Past Presidents, acquires small gifts for them, and recognizes them at one luncheon. Recognizes any special member for her achievements.
Membership Recruits new members and keeps updated lists of members, and assesses the needs of membership.
Scholarship/ Fraternity Outreach Responsible for selection of scholarship recipients, with the assistance of a committee; and develops programs to promote applications for our scholarships.
Newsletter Preparation With input from the First and Second VPs, prepares the flyers that notify members of events, copies them, forwards them to the Newsletter Mailing officer in early September, November, January, March, May.
Newsletter Mailing Takes flyers to the post office for timely bulk mailing in early September, November, January, March, May.
Parliamentarian Usually office taken by the immediate past President; review by-laws and recommends any revisions with assistance of a committee.
